UNFAIR MONOPOLIES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—Would you be kind enough to inform me whether it is true that one man in New Zealand alone possesses the rights and powers to make felt for hats ? I ask this because in ordering a hat the other day I avked my hatter to make it as far as possible of felt, and of materials manufactured in the Colony. —I am, etc., FREETRADER. Dunedin, October 1.
