The amount of revenue oolleoted at the Customhouse on goods oleared to-day for consumption was L 1,764 6b. ■•■■'■ *.•■•.
There has not been muoh animation in business during the week. The Weßtland and Orari, with general cargoes, arrived on Thursday, and this will supply the market with a number of lines whloh were becoming very low in stock. Sugars have been rather quiet. Current quotation for snowdrop is L2l to L2l 10s; jrrry to white, L2O to L2O 10s; and Amerlcin granulated, L2l 10j. In teas thtre is not much doing; but we look for better business in this line during the next month. Fruits continue in; moderate demand. Currants are selling at 6Jd to 5Jd sultanas, 6id to OJd ; Elemes, Bjd. Kerosene is firm at Is 9d to Is lOd for 150 test, sales of Patua rice are reported a 1; L 24. __^ THE LABOR MARKET. Mr Skene reports: Country people are now in good demand, but young people are in the majority. Since his last report he has placed 28 males at from 8s to 255; also 11 females at from 6s to 16b; in all cases found. [Bv Tblborafh.l London, September 25.—Wheat has fallen 5s within the fortnight.
