TAMPERING WITH THE ELECTORAL ROLLS.

[advt.]

to the Editor. Sib,—Dr J. Q. Black, of the University, has an advertisement in the form of a letter in this morning's issue of the 'Daily Times,'wherein he accuses me of tampering with the Peninsula electoral roll. The charge is within the knowledge of Dr Black distinctly and absolutely false, and has been published at the last moment in the hope of influencing the result of the election. As Mr Ure. the Registrar, is today on duty at the Garrison Hall, I cannot obtain from him a copy of my objection to Dr Black's name. To-morrow I will publish a full statement proving the falsehood of the accusation.—l am, etc., J. White. Dunedin, September 26.
