[Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 26. The dead body of a newly-born male child was found to-day in a paddock behind the Thistle Hotel, and is believed to have been strangled, but the medical report is not yet made. There is no clue to the mother, except an old dress in which the body was wrapped. INVERCARGILL, September 26. A six-roomed house at East Invercargill, owned and occupied by a widow named Gourley, was burned down to-day. There was an insurance for Ll5O on the house and furniture in the South British Office. '' Arrangements have been made for the admission to the South School of children from the Charitable Aid Board's Home. This decision will give satisfaction, much feeling having been aroused by the recent refusal of the School Committee to admit such children, NEW PLYMOUTH, September 26. William Bailley, who has been residing with his brother near Oakura, has been missing since September 18. He had been in the habit of wandering about, and is said not to have been right in the head. 1 - i
