THE ST. CLAIR SANDHILLS.
TO THE EDITOR. S/r.—Permit me to draw the attention of tho Conservators lately appointed to look after the sandhills at the Ocean Beach to the (act that sand is oontinually being carted away (rom these biUa. This morning I saw a youth busy filling a cart (rom the hills outside the fence at the point where the tramcar stands. I have often seen the eime youth at that work. He appears to be carting at present to property round the comer o( the hotel on tho opposite side. I also notice one man laboriously carrying it off night after night with a barrow, but as this latter mode is so ludicrous it perhaps hardly merits attention. The other, however, ought to be stopped at onoe.—l am, etc, A.B. Dunedin, August 6.
