Tho Union Steam Ship Company received cable advice to-day that their new steamer Pukaki sai'ed from the Clyde on Tuesday, the 2nd inst. The Pukaki has been built with a view to develop a coal trade between Greymouth and Melbourne. Her dimensions are as follow Length, 230 ft; beam, 36ft; depth, IBJft. She is fitted for twenty saloon and twenty-four sco.'nd-clasa passengers, and has a cargo capacity up to 1,700 tons. She has been specially designed as a light-draught boat, and will carry 1,400 tons on a draught of 14ft. THE DIRECT STEAMERS. The Aorangi left Plymouth for Now Zealand via the Cape and Hobart on July 30.
