ELECTION NOTICES. TO H. S. FISH, ESQ., J.P. *EAR SIR,-We the undersigned Electors of Dunedin South, fully recognising your arduous and valuable public services during the past twenty years, hereby request you to allow yourself to be nominated as a Candidate at the forthcoming General Election. We are well aware, should yon accede to our request, that you, in common with other candidates in the Liberal cause, will be exposed to the rancor, misrepresentation, and vituperation of so-called leading Opposition journals, and that the sacrifice on your part will be very considerable; but seeing that the present political crisis must (unless the people prove true to themselves by returning men of tried Liberal opinions in whom they can trußt) result in the return to power of the Hall-Atldnson Continuous Ministry, which has by its misgovernment the Colony to its present condition, and which has so unbluahingly ignored the interests of Otago and the Middle Island in the past, we ask you to sink all personal considerations by at once consenting to stand for election, and we pledge ourselves to do our utmost to secure your return.
