STOCK AND STATION REPORT.

Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports for the week ended Juno 8 as follows : Fat Cattle.—This week’s market brought forward a full supply, 211 head being yarded, mostly prime quality, the remainder fair to good. A few prime bullocks brought pic -a up to last week’s quotations, but on tho whole tho market wai much easier and altogether void of animation. A number of pens had to he wilhdrawn, to he hold over for further disposal. Best bullocks brought 17 to 1,8 10s ; medium to good, L 3 7s6dtnL6 10a. Crws from L2 17s 01 to 10 17a 6d; one or Iwo heavy weights a elude more. Wo sold, on account of several vendors, caws at from L 4 5s to L 5 2s Od Fat Sheep,—A very moderate supply was penned to doV—vi4., 1,593 consisting of 125 merino wethers, {air Id good ; tho ha'ance oross-breds, medium quality, only a few pons being prim i. Tnc sales opened at about last week’s quotations, but toward* tho close competition was more active, p ices rc.ali-cd showing a slight advance. Best cross-bred wethers brought 8s 9:1 to 10i 31; ordinary, 7s to 8s 6d ; best do ewes, 7s 91 to 9s 9d ; o dinary, 6s to 7s 61; merino wethers, 4s fid to 6s fid. Fat Lambs.—There wore only 220 penned, fair to good, hot biing now almost out of season, there was but little competition, prices ranging from 6s 3d to 7a. Tallow,—There is no alteration to speak of in the tone of the market. A moderate demand continues to exist—all consignments coming forward are readily taken up for local consumption; but there is very little inquiry for shipment, and for this purpose sales could only bo effected 4t a reduction on present quoI rations, -which we give as follow: —For hest mutton, X6s to X7s 6d ; medium to good, X4s to XSs; inferior and mixed, 10s to X3s; rough fat, Inferior 7s to Bs, medium to good, 9s to XOs; best caul fat, Xls to X2s per owt. Grain.—Wheat; The position of the market with regard to prices for milling fa much about the same as last week. Fowl wheat is >carce, and in large demand at an advance. On the whole, the tone of the market fur all sorts is firm, with a tendency to harden. We quote prime milling velvet, red-straw, and Tuscan at 3s lid to 4s Xd; good to best, 3s XOd to 3s lid; medium, 8s 7d to 3s 9i ; whole fowls’ wheal, 8s 3d to 3s 6d; inferior and broken, 2s 94 to 3s (ex store).— Oats: There has been a slight improvement in the demand this week. Fair feed and good milling have been in request, the former having been dealt in to a considerable extent at an advance of quite Id per bushel. Buyers, however, in the meantime are rather unwilling to submit loan equal advance on the price of the latter ; but, now that the deliveries from the country have almost ceased, the position is somewhat more in favor of sellers. Wo quote prime milling at Is 8d to Is 9d ; best bright feed. Is 8d to Is SJd; medium/ Is 7Jd to Is 8d; inferior and discolored, Is 5Jd to Is 7d (ex store).
