INTERPROVINCIAL BOAT RACE.
INVERCARGILL, April 16.
The annual four-oared boat race between representatives of .the Otago and Invercargill Rowing Clubs took Jll&ce on tire estuary here this looming. -Theje was splendid weather, and ft high tide. ''Dunedin had the choice of course and boats, and cboSe a course of two miles, The average weight of the local crew wu lOst. lib, and that of Dunedin I2st. The boats got off to a good start, Invercargill taking a slight lead. At a quarter of a mile they increased this to a clear length, but at half a mile the Dunedin men got on even terms. This continued for 200 yards, both crews pulling their best; but from that point the Invercargill men gradually drew away, and won by six lengths. The crews were constituted as follows
