ARRIVAL OF ADMIRAL FAIRFAX. MELBOURNE, April 10. (Received April 11,1887, at 12,30 a.m.) The Shannon arrived in Melbourne last night. Among her passengers is Admiral Fairfax, who succeeds Admiral Tryon as chief in command of the Australian naval squadron. During his stay in Melbourne he will be the guest of Sir Henry Loch.
