St. Helier's Cottage, Frederick street, Dunedin, January 12,1887. I have been ill about six years. I came to New Zealand for the benefit of my health about four years ago, but got worse. I was oyer four months in the Dunedin Hoßpitali the card over my bed stating my disease to be consumption; and I was discharged, as they could dp me no good. I picked up one of Dr Speer's handbills in the hospital grounds, and called to see him. He laughed at my sad appearance, and said: "Behappy, old man; you are worrying over the past; you have been frightened, po bb I tell you, and you will soon feel like a new man." In ten weekß I find he was right. I feel better than I have for years, and am ready to go to work.
