The following team has been selected to represent Canterbury in flie draughts mat«h with Ofcago, at Duuedin, on the 9th R. Boswell (Christchurch), Alexander Craighead (Aahburton), W. B. Hood (Mount Somen), J. 0. Joaling (Rangiora), H. W. Kay (Chriatchurch), D. M'Laren (Leithfield), D. Reese, M.H.R. (Christohurch), and T. Menzies (Christchurch). The Port Chalmers Rowing Club are sending a representative crew to compete at the forthcoming Riverton regatta, consisting of Messrs M'ackley (stroke), Menelaus, Mackinnon, and Colthorpe. ' The Island Bay Racing Company will be -wound up voluntarily. The liabilities are L 3.400, and the assets, exclusive of the property, L 339. It is understood that a new oompftny will be formed to take over theooncern. »• The annual meeting of the Fort Chalmers Football Chib was held in the Mechanics' Institute last night, about forty j members being present; Mr W.
