(Received March 23, 1887. at 8 p.m.l The second of this year’s aeries of wool auctions was opened to-day before a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 9,100 bales, for which bidding proceeded with fair spirit, but without a quotable change of prices o m pared with the closing rates of the January.February auctions. For crosa-breds and greasy merlnoes these rates were barely maintained. The total quantity to bo offered during the present series, which close on April 27, has been limited by the Importers’ Committee to 275,000 bales.
