THE PRINCIPALITIES PREPARING, ' SOFIA, March 4.

Information has been received that Servia and Roumania are massing troops on the Bulgarian frontier.

Increased hostility to Bulgaria is being manifested by the Montenegrins, Albanians, and Turks.

The trial of the ringleaders in the revolt at Rustchuck was concluded to-day. Nine were sentenced to death, and many others condemned to penal servitude,

RUSSIA'S ATTITUDE.

ST. PETERSBURG, March 7,

The 'Official Messenger,' in an article, justifies the conspirators at Silistria, declaring the revolt a fresh proof of the abnormal condition of affairs in Bulgaria. Nevertheless, the Russian Government, it states, hoping that the right of the Bulgarian people will be secured, will adhere to their previous course in regard to the Balkan Peninsula.

Amongst those sentenced to death for participation in the recent rising at Rustchuck are Colonel Tiloff, Major Onzounoff, and a Russian civilian named Bolmann. The European Consuls at Rustchuck have recommended that an appeal to mercy on their behalf should be made to the Regent.

Altogether 200 insurgents were killed and wounded in the risings at Rustchuck and Silistria. The populace of Rustchuck threaten to lynch the prisoners unless the death sentence is carried out.
