IT is ft fact not generally known that the American Watch Company, of Waltham, Mass., manufacture more watches annually at their extensive works than all the manufacturers of England combined. To do this it has been necessary to construct and perfect machinery for the manufacture of the different parts constituting a watch movement, and this immense Factory is filled with the most ingenious and delicate machines that can be devised, some of which are almost human in their action. Upwards of 2,000 persons are employed in the building, and about 6,000 Finished Watches per week are produced, while the total number of Watches made is over three millions.
