TO TIIK KDITOU. Siu, —I observe iii to-night's Staii that a portion of the proceeds of the swimming tournament is to be devoted to putting up a hand-rail and stops at the shallow end of the hath. As one who keenly and gratefully enjoys a dip, 4 respectfully suggest that the money would be much better spent in cutting away the sharp rocks which so hurt the feet. The iloor of the bath seemed much smoother last summer than now; possibly the sand has been washed away. Swimmers of course neither know nor care anything about the matter ; but all arc not swimmers, though wo might become such if the foothold were easy and pleasant. — lam, etc., jl.vnmi. lloslyn, February 4.
