THE WAIRARAPA.
TO THE EDITOR. SiR,-rrOn reading your account of the repairs to the Wairarapa I was somewhat astonished to observe that your reporter who, while having a word of honorable mention for some of the foremen engaged on that steamer, omitted the naine of Mr Walter White, the Company's foreman joiner, for upon his shoulders rested the labor, in a very large measure indeed, of getting up her cabins and various other fittings to their present satisfactory condition, where hardly a vestige of anything was left to guide him in his work. I think if your reporter had understood or looked into, this fact he would, on the principle of hdpo.r to whom honor is due, have mentioned the name of Mr White along with the others.— I am, etc., One Who' Knows. Dunedin, January C.
