THE LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Board ws-s held yesterday, and was attended by althe Commissioners, with the exception of Mr Stout. A letter . was received from Messrs Howorth and Hodgkins, instructed by Mr F. Feuwick, protesting against the action of the Board in adopting a resolution referring to hlaruu, 217n, maintaining that the decision could not affect his title, and stating that he will resist any interference with his rights. Mr W. L. Simpson applied on behalf of James Harley to have Motions 7 aud 8, blnck 7, Lauder, opened for application under the perpetual leasing system. —lt wa3 decided to recommend the Government accordingly, The Ohlef Surveyor reported on a request by Patrick Hanley to purchase or lease portion of the road-line west of saotiocs 3 and 6, black 2, Otama district.—Tho Board minuted that they had no power to grant the request. ; James Hamilton gave notice of his intention to abandon the lease of section 1, block 1, Wendonslde, witb tho view of applying., for another deferred-payment section. —The Board resolved : If applicant will state he declines io execute lease his deposit will be forfeited. The Board declined Charles Higgins's request for three months' leave of absence from pastoral deferred-payment section 1, block 5, Silver Peak district.

The Board recommended for approval of Government a report by the Ohlef burveyor on a letter of Dalgleish and Stewart stating that by the recent sale of section 3, blook 8, Warepa district, they had been deprived of a portion of their ran, and asking tfcat they should be relieved of tho area severed, and granted a reduction of rent.

The olerk of the Kingsdalo Road Board submitted plana of road lines, which were approved. Mr 0. J. Russell, of Pembroke, applied for permission to occupy ten acres of the unsurveyed portion of Pembroke .behind blocks -13, 43. —Application declined, Tho following application waa epprovi-d : John Harrison, section 41 5 block XV., Mouut Hyde.
