RE JOSEPH BELL.
TO TIIH KMTOR. Sin,—lt would seem from your report of tho bankrupfcv proceedings in the Supremo Uourt yesterday that'l had been professionally guilty of negleotlng the interest of a client. Such is not the case. The aflidavit required by the Act, and referred to in the above matter bv Mr' Registrar Gordon, was duly prewired bv mo ami sworn to on the 17th December last before Mr Henry Iloworth, a solicitor of tho Supreme Court of New Zealand, and was sent by me (as Mr Bell's solicitor) on tho same dato to tho Supreme Court office for tho purpose of l>eing filed. 1 searched the records of the Supreme Court this morning, and tho aflidavit in question apparently has never reached its destination, but through uo fault of mine. I ask the insertion of this in justice to myself.—l am, etc., J. E. Hyde Harms. Duncdin, July 11.
