The amount of revenue collected at tho Customhouse on goods cleared to-day for consumption was L 2,729 ICa sd. Gold, L 4 Its. A mooting of consignees of the ship Pampero was held to-dav at the offices of the Underwriters' Association, New Zealand Insurance Buildings. Mr Turnbull occupied tho chair. Seventeen gentlemen wore present. Messrs Brindley and MaoNeil explained that the purpose of tho meeting was to discuss tho nature of tho bond to bo signed by the consignees in the case of tho Pampero. An animated discussion ensued. Ultimately (t was moved by Mr A. MacNelJ (Arthur Briscoe and Co,), seconded by Mr Black (Now Zealand Hardware Company), and carried unanimously—“ That Hu form of average bond approved by tho London Associ tion lie adopted in this case.” MINING NOTES. Messrs Hamilton and Chapman and Gage Bros, received telegrams from Reefton on Saturday stating the Welcomo Company’s yield to have been I,SSSoz of amalgam, and the Kcep-lt-Dark’e 801oz of amalgam. THE LABOR MARKET. Mr Skene reports work is plentiful, and demand good. Wages: Day labor, 8s and 9s: light hands, 5s to 7s ; station and farm couples, L7O, L 75, and LBO ; ploughmen, I.6s—second hands, L 45 to Lo2 ; milkers—men, lads, ami girls, 10s, 12s, 15s, and 20s; message bovs, 5s to 10s; farm and station hoys, Bs, 10s, and 15a, and all found ; hotel men, cooks, waiters, boots, 20s, 80s, 40s, and 00s ; hotel females—cooks, barmaids, waitresses, etc., 20s to 35s ; housekeepers,governesses, 20s to 30s; ordinary girls tor stations, farm*, and town, 12s, 15s, and 18s; storemen and clerks, 80s to 50s ; cash boys, 20s to 30s; builders, tradesmen, Os, 10s, Its, 12s, and 18s; station cooks, 20s and 255; country smiths, 60s; strikers, 80s.
