[Reuter’s Telegrams.] ""LONDON, July 7. The match Australians v. Middlesex was resumed to-day at Lord’s ground. The weather was again showery during the day, and the attendance was consequently only moderate. The Australians, with three wioketa down for 60 runs, went in for a continuation of their first innings, Horan and Murdoch resuming their places at the wickets. Both men batted splendidly, and remained together for some time. Murdoch was at length caught for 51, having played a splendid innings. Horan _ played very steadily, and carried out his bat for 88 The following is the full score of the Australians’ first innings Bannerman, caught .. .. ..23 Massie, caught and bowled .. -. 1 M'Donnell, caught .. •• 8 Murdoch, caught .. ..61 Horan, not out .. •• ..83 Bonnor, caught .. •• ..2 GlSen, bowled.. .. .. ..8 Palmer, caught .. • • .. 2 Garrett, caught .. .. ..0 Spofforth, caught .. . • .. 3 Jones, Ibw .. .. ..0 Extras .. .. • • .. 5 Total 180 The Middlesex Eleven being 82 behind, their opponents went in for their second innings, but failed to make any stand against the splendid bowling of Garrett, Palmer, and Spofforth.
