Maori, 8.5., 174 tons, Cromarty, for Oamarn. April 29. Mary Campbell, brigantine, 149 tons, Brothers, for Greymouth. The brigantine Seagull, from Kaipara, was towed up from the Heads yesterday evening, and passed the Port to Dunedin astern of the Shag. The Waitaki arrived at six .this morning from Timaru, which port she left at 8 p.m. yesterday. . The police have laid ah information against Captain Err, of the English barque Pern, which sailed lor London, a day or two ago, charging him with having a prisoner from the custody of a detective. Detective Chrystal proceeded on board the barque just as it was about to sail for London. He arrived with a warrant for the arrest of the cook, who, it was alleged, had stolen a sum of money and certain clothes.'The detective went in Bearch of his man, and was successful in finding him with the articles said to have been stolen.
