THE IMPERIAL PARLIAMENT.
[Reuter’s Telegrams.] THE IRISH~LAND ACT. LONDON, April 26. In the House of Commons this afternoon Mr E. Redmond, Home Ruler, member for New Ross, moved for leave to introduce a Bill for the amending of the Irish Land Act. The motion was opposed by Mr Gladstone, who promised that the Government would during the present session introduce a Bill for dealing with the non-payment of arrears of rent in Ireland. Mr Redmond agreed, after some farther remarks, to accept the Premier’s assurance in a friendly spirit, and the debate was then adjourned.
