THE BOER REBELLION.
General Colley, with the force at his com. mand, advanoed frtm logoo to Lungsnek at six o'olock in the morning of January 26. He sent forward his artillery, and they shelled the heights to the right of his position. The 58th Regiment, under Colonel Bond, then attempted to storm the hoighte held by the enemy in force, The Boers, aeelr<g thia manoeuvre on the part of the British, rapidly brought up reinforcements, and enfiladed the regiment, inflicting severe losa. The British colors, whioh had fallen into the hands of the enemy, were recaplured at the peint of the bayonet. Colonel B. M. deputyadjutant and quarter-master-general on the staff, aid Captain Moraii werß amongst the killed. The BDers bv t -bored the wounded who fell into their hands.
Gensral Colloy, who la now encamped at Lungsnek, reports hopefully of the state of tfXiirs. Thos? who were tho worst wounded, ho Bays, are doing well, but the lose of officers in tho recent engagement was s.-rk-ui.
