DEATH B Y DROWNING.
Wo have to reoord another case of drowning at the Ooean B9floh—that of Mr Joseph Farra Jones, if tho Grand Paoifio Hotel, Musselburgh, and formerly of Warn s Hotel, Manse street. Tho deceased gentleman had been in monetary difficulties c-f Lt:', arid it is supposed that this preyed on hie mind and eaustd him to commit suioid*. F.-om what we can learn he could not have been in bed much last night; at all events ho was seen on the balcony of his hotel at five o'clock this morning. A plasterer named Louis Rother states that about 6 a m., as was his custom, he proceeded along the Quwn's Drivo to the Beach for the pur-p-w> •;' hp/'i'g a and on getting ulut iv tho water'* he saw a man's bJdy Utlog tosted about by the breakers, a short distanco from the shore. On lookiDg about him he saw some clothing lying about 50yds further up the beaoh. He then became frightened, and withtut making any attempt to recover tho body proceeded to. the Kensington police station, and reported matter. Rother BtatcirlJiat he km sure it was a dead body, and W was that that frightened him. Constable Dudley, on procaading to the place, found some letters in tho c at pocket" addressed to " Joseph F. j Jones ;" and the clothiog, on being taken to the hotel, was identified by Mrs Jones aa that of her husband. Mrs Jones states lU ceased always wore underclothing- and eooks, aud as these were not found, it la-supposed that he had them on at the tii*e of Lis death.
