Daring the year ended June 30, 1880, there «ere 427,257 immig ants brought into the United States. Of these 99,700 came through British America, the moat of them arriving at Port Huron, Michigan. Germany sent the next largest number, 84,038, and Ireland next, 71,003. England contributed 59.454, Scotland 12,040, and tho total contributions from the British Islands were 144,876.
