The amount of revenue received at the Custom House on goods cleared this day for consumption was L 1.676 8s 6-1 x. i, , . The Customs revenue collected at Lyttelton during the September quarter was L 47,870 ; and at Auckland tho returns show a decrease of L 4,050 on tho corres ponding quarter of last year.

Mr Henry Driver, on behalf of the N.Z.L. and M.A. Company (Limited), reports for the week ending October 1,1879, as follows Fat Cattle— Only 127 head yarded for to-day’s market, consisting chiefly of good to prime quality. Prices showed a slight Improvement on lust week s quotations, although the deman I altogether was rather languid, owing to the trade holding supplies from last week. Best bullocks brought up to Ll3 10s per head, equal to 27s Cd to 30i for prime, and 25s for medium qua ity. .. , „ , . Fat Sheep.—l,Bss penned, all long-woollcd, and chiefly good quality and fairly heavy weights. Butchers being barely able to supply themselves I«st week owing to the limited number penned, there was an active demand to-day for good sheep, and a considerable rise iu prices took place. We sold 829 on account of Messrs J. and J. Sutherland, Thomas Murray, A. M’Uren, and J. G Gray, at from 10s fid to 10s per head. We quote mutton at 25-1 to 3d per lb. Fat Lambs.—73 penned, and wore solo at from 10s to 10s each. , Sheepskins.—We disposed of a small catalogue at our usual Monday’s sale. There was a fair attendance of bnvers, and no alteration in pric-s since last week. Crossbreds fetched from 2s 4d to 4s; merinos, Is lOd to 3s 4d ; pelts and station skins, Is to is 8d Hides.—We sold 113 at 2id for salted and 15s to 16s for green. , Tallow is not in demand ; we have no sales to report. Rougli fat may be quoted at 15s to 15s fid. Grain.—Wheat: We have placed several lines of prime milling at sa, with fair demand for choice samples ; medium may he quoted at 4s fid to 4s 9d ; fowls' wheat, 3s Cd to 3s lid. Oats are in better demand, but without any advance in price; wc quote feed at 2s to 2s Id ; milling, 2s 2d to 2s 4d. Barley : Prime malting scarce at 5s 3d to 5s fid; medium, 4s 9d to ss.
