PROSPECTUS OP THE ■COLONIAL CLOTHING MANUFACTURE j ING COMPANY (LIMITED). Registered under the Provisions of the Joint Stock Companies Act. Capital £IO,OOO, In 5,000 Shares of L2 each, Of which it is proposed to call up 10s per Share payable as follows:—2s 6d on application, 2a 6d on allotment, and 5s three months after date of allotment. The balance may be called up by the Directors if required for the purpose of extending the business of the Company ; but no call to exceed 5s per share at intervals not le»s than 3 months. The promoters have purchased from the Trustees of the assigned estate of Messrs Aitken, Pascoe, and Co., for cash, the lease, plant, and goodwill of their clothing manufactory, and purpose arranging for the further purchase of such woollen and other piece goods as may be advantageously secured. Sufficient capital having been subscribed, operations were commenced on the Ist August last, and the factory is now in full working order. 2nd. It is somewhat remarkable that, throughout the New Zealand Colonies, there is no clothing manufactory whose operations are strictly oonflned to wholesale transactions, although the demand may be considered as almost unlimited. The Company may therefore rely on doing a very considerable and profitable trade. 3rd. The services of Mr T. Gluyas Pascoe have been secured as manager, who for many years has so successfully managed the largest clothing manufactories of Victoria, and whose thorough knowledge of the New Zealand trade will enable him to immediately place the manufactured goods In the market. The large trade done by the firm of Aitken, Pascoe and Co., can be largely recreated under the present directory. 4th. The Promoters feel confident (more particularly so as the balance-*heet of the late firm shows a profit of over 20 per cent, on the capital invested in nine months working) with adequate capital and judicious management the undertaking cannot but prove a most profitable investment for the shai eholders. sth.
