Ran second to his stable companion Leap Year in the Prendergast Stakes, of 1,075 sovs.

Cadogan won the Epsom Woodcote Stakes, of 1,160 sovs, beating nine others. Ran third in the Ascot New Stakes, of 1,358 sovs, won by Strathern, Lansdown second. Third in the Goodwood Richmond Stakes, of 1,980 sovs, won by Wheel of Fortune, Peter second. Third in the Findon Stakes, of 420 by Amice, Ismael second. Paid forfeit in a match for 300 sovs a-side against the Strathconan—Fragrance colt. Rayon d'Or ran third in the July Stakes of 2,070 sovs, won by Ruperra, Gunnersbury second. Won the Goodwood Levant Stakes of 930 sovs, beating four others. ' Second in the Brighton' Corporation Stakes of 592 sovs, won by White Poppy (in receipt of 101b). Second in the Lewes Priory Stakes of 473 sovs, won by'the Modena filly (in receipt of 161b). Second in the Doncaster Champagne Stakes of 825 sovs, won by Charibert. Won a sweepstakes of 500 sovs each, beating Charibert and Reconciliation. Second in the Newmarket Boscawen Stakes, of 600 sovs, won by Leap Year. Won the Newmarket Clearwell Stake?, of 980 aovs, beating five others. Unplaced in the Middle Park Plate, of 3;790 sovs, won by Peter, Victor Chief second, Gunnersbury third. Third in the Newmarket Criterion Stakes, of 1,070 sovs, won by Monsieur Philippe (in receipt of 71bs), Lancastrian (71bs) second. Won the Newmarket Glasgow Stakes, of 300 sovs, beating Ringleader and Glencairn. It' will be remembered that Peter, the winter favorite for this race, was disqualified owing to the death of General Peel.. Charibert is by the same sire as Atlantic, who won the Two Thousand for Lord' Falmouth" in 1874; and is also half-brother to Childeric, who ran third for last year's Derby, and, second to his stable companion Janette for the St. Leger. Cadogan is by the Derby winner of 1872. Rayon d'Or is by the French-bred sire Flageolet, winner of the Goodwood Cup of 1873, and is out of the dam of Chamant, winner of the Two Thousand in 1877.
