Sii!,~The editor of the ' Daily Times' in his sub-leader of this morning on the subject of " How to deal with, those of our City reserves which are set apart for purposes of public health and recreation," seems to have overlooked the fact that the Acts he quotes—viz., the Public Reserves Act, 1554, and its Amendment, 1862, subject to the provisions «f which the Dunedin Corporation had power by the Dunedin Reserves Management Ordinance, 1565, to lease the reserves—were repealed by the Repeals Act, IS7B ; and, further, that by the Public Reserves Ace, 1877, section 7,. under which governing bodies have power to lease reserves, it is specially provided that such "power of leasing shall not be deemed to apply to any reserves made for any purpose of public health or public recreation, excepting racecourses."—l am, &c, ''" ' Alex. -Willis.
