At the trial held under the auspices of the fM'i'g.miM.iAflw M'Cormick's Sheaf-binder fulfilled the conditions of the Society, and waa awarded THE GOLD MEDAL. At the Riccarton trial, January 24, 1878, three-foiirths of the farmers preferred the M'Cormick Reaper and Binder, and were prepared to give their unsolicited verdiot in its favor. At the Kaiapoi Trial, February 7, 1878. the awarded to the M'Cormick Machine. At the Oamaru Trial, February 27, 1878, THE GOLD MEDAL, Given by the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Oamaru, Otago, waa awarded to the M'Cormick Machine. At the Ashburton County Trial, at Methven, on March 6,1878, the Fust Prize waß awarded to the driver of tha only M'Cormick Machine present in competition with twelve machines of another make.
