Presuming that the extra cost! for foundations will amount to L 3.000 the statement that the cast of the buildings and decorations will reach L 78,196 shows an unexpended balance of • ii 45,555.. 1 know the council sure anxious and willing, so far as their means will allow, to fit up the several classrooms and the library with good and permapent fltthigs. They also wish to provide the profefedra ’ requisite appliance and apparatus to make the University a success. Yet 1 feel sure that the professors, with myself, are equally in the dark as to the contemplated expenditure of '■ such sum as 145,000, or indeed, of any sumT on ’ apparatus and fittings.
