In order, apparently, to regain the confidence of the public he seeks to throw the blame of last Saturday's proceedings on Shepard, who is not here to defend himself; but, in my opinion, the Dunedin people are far too sensible to allow any man to exonerate himself by such a cowardly invention.—l am etc., Fair Play.
