10 rnk EDITOR. Sir, —I think Mr Goodfellow's statement which appeared in. your columns of Saturday both saltish and unmanly. In order, apparently, to regain the confidence of the public he seeks to throw the blame of last Saturday's proceedings on Shepard, who is not here to defend himself; but, in my opinion, the Dunedin people are far too sensible to allow any man to exonerate himself by such a cowardly invention.—l am etc., Fair Play.
