At 1.30 Auckland had scored 40 for seven wickets, all the best players going out for small BCO it 9, .^^P 11 had made a good stand, and had knocked up 17 when hi was given out leg before wicket. Mumford was caught after adding 6, and Yates, who was expected to make a long stand, was bowled by a ball which he played from his leg guard on to his wicket before scoring. Lynch was clean bowled after scoring 8 with a shooter by Bayley after playing a nice innings. Buckland was bowled by Cleary. Coleman, after adding four, was thrown out. Bird followed and scored 9, when he was caught by Bayley at short leg.. Carter and Ivens then got together and mace a capital stand, bringing the score up to 69, when Carter was bowled. Ivens is a young player, and promises to make a good cricketer, his cuts and drives being greatlv admired. Reeee took Carter's place, and after carefully scoring 13 ran himself out. Whitaker, the last man, only scored 2. The I innings of the United Eleven closed for 92 Ivens carrying out his bat for 29, after a capital innings. After lunch the game was resumed.
