Fell T Campbell BHoare R Allen sf J O gg J Tyson J J Tiffen J Thomas R Dagg J Uowson was odd man. SECOND ROUND. R Allen J Mowson ' In the first round Campbell quickly disposed of Eoare, and Allen treated Ogg sdmilarly, throwing his big opponent very cileverly. There was some dissatisfaction over the meeting between Tysen and Tiffen. Jifter a lot of fiddling to get a hold, the judges put the men together, but they wriggled feheir heads out repeatedly, and after one of tihese manoeuvres Tyson claimed a fall on account of Tiffen unclasping his hands. This was allowed by the to the great disgust of Tiffen and the general public, amd Tiffen left the ring, Thomas also asserting that ho would not continue in the match. In an hour’s time, however, the a.ffair was patched up by Tiffen’s entering & protest against the fall being given against him, and he and Tyson re-entered the arena. Tiffin then gained a fall by Tyson breaking his hold, but the latter gained the first through Tiffin letting go. Thomas put Dagg down by a clever back-fall, but a fall was given against the Victorian wrestler, on account of his leaving the ring. The final was, however, given against Dagg, because he refused to wrestle again. 'ln the second round Allen very quickly disposed of Mowfion, and then came the meeting of Tyson and Thomas. Both men went to work at once, losing no time in getting hold, hot three or four bouts came to nothing, through the men wriggling out of each other’s grip. At length, however, Thomas made his effort, and by a clever right buttock, threw Tyson cleverly. The applause' at this feat was something terrific, the spectators all round the ring cheering at the top of their voices for several minutes and hundreds of hats being thrown into the air. It was thought that the round would have been finished out, but it appears that Thomas and Tyson had agreed before starting that after one fall the rest of the competition should be adjourned till tomorrow.
