SOUTH DUNEDIN.

TO THB SDITOR. Sin,—l am sorry to say that the report of the rowdy proceeding at the t ouncil meeting last night is true; but, sir, the peaceable, and 1 may f.ay a great portion of the respectably ratepayers of the borough, is treating this noisy rabb'e with the contempt they deserve, which is plainly shown by their non-attendance from the socalled meetings re tramways. I feel humiliated when I read reports of the various meetings, knawing so well the motives of the agitators against the tramways. But, wr, if the vote on the question were taken to-morrow, the trams would be carried by a largo majority. A great many of those present at the Council meeting last evening were to be pitied, for they had evidently been primed for the occasion.-1 a: i. AC, „ , _ A. G. Puics. bouth Dunedin, November 12.
