Glengarry, Castlereagh, Red Archer, and Insulaire were the first mounted, and the last named was on the course first, but was quickly followed by Yager, Clocher, and the rest. The little black led the canter, and swept past the stand in fine style, followed by Clocher, Yager, Mappleton, Castlereagh, and Boniface: then came the others in a cluster, while Potentate running wide round the bend, nearly upset a policeman. While they were getting into order for the parade Castlereagh lashed out and kicked Sharp, who was riding Yager, so severely that the limb of the poor lad was broken, and he had to be taken to the infirmary. The feature of themareh past was Beauclerc'sfretf illness, and when they were walking to the post Red Archer was also fractious. Without the slightest break-away the flag fell, all getting we M though Insulaire was rather quickest ipn ; his, legs. Goater, however, soon pulled him back, and Glengarry was left with > slight lead of Master Kildare, the pair being Closely pressed by Bonniface, Jannette, Red Archer, Potentate, Insulaire, Attains, Beaucjerc, and Childeric being next, and Earn -de Vie, who was outpaced, last. The .pace..at.first was rather slow, though' afrefgdrttg three. hundred . yard* it COMiderably improved, and Boniface took a

sjglit load of Glengarry and Potentate, but ti|e latter immediately afror rushed to the lrjpnt, and was aoon two lengths in front of J'pmface; Clotcher, who had been gradually working his way to the '"front, now taking third place, Glengarrv and Master ivddare being next clear of Red Archer, Attains, Jannette, aud Childcric, the rearward division comprising Mappleton, iieaucle.c, ami Eau do Vie. There v,as little chaiige m these positions as they descended tne hill and approached the Rifle Butts, oeiore reaching which Potentate still further increased his advantage, Boniface being next just in advance of a compact body of horses, which now included Eau de Vie and Beauclerc, the pair having left the rearmost position to Mappleton, who was rapidly tailing off. Passing the Red House Potentate was done with, and Boniface at once showed m advance of Childeric and Glengarry, close up i with whom came Insulaire, Red Arcner, Master Kilaeare, Jannette, and Beauclerc, and in this order they raced to ; the first bend. Here Master Kildare joined his stable compamon, who soon retired, and the Irishman was followed by Childeric and Insulaire, next to these Leing Clocher and Red Archer on the outside ; while Jannette at their heels had a good place. Before they had fairly got into the straight Clocher and Insulaire dropped away, and Red Archer soon followed suit, leaving the issue to the three placed. Childeric and Master Kildare raced together in close company, with Jannette going well behind them to the distance, at which point the filly drew up to them, and leaving the pair as if they wefe standing still, she cume on at her ease and won in a canter by four lengths from her stable companion, Childeric, who got the better of Master Kildare half way up, and defeated him by half a length for second place; Clocher, beaten about a couple of lengths, was fourth ; Insulaire being fifth ; Attalus sixth ; Beauclerc seventh ; Boniface eighth; Castlereagh ninth; Eau de Vie tenth, and Red Archer rfext. Potentate trotted in last with the exception of Mappleton, who was pulled up at the turn and walked in with the crowd. Time, Smin. 30sec.
