VOLUNTEER REVIEW.

TO THE EDITOR. Sj:t,—ln answer to a letter appearing in last night's issuo, signed " One of the Committee," -who seems very much indignant at the headquarters band or railway (I don't exactly'which to call it, it appearing under two >om ties plrnum) being told off to No. 3 battalion, and a company band to No. 1 battalion. I should like to know where the company band should be, if it is not with its company ? 1 could perfectly understand the .•?o-call<>d headquarters band objecting to a ennpany band usurping its place mi all occasions ; so they would like to make it out. The company band play the battalion out on a parade afternoon, when the headquarters hand is also ordered out, and pa : d for so doing, hut puts in no appearance. But, strange to say, they doirt object to tlic company band usurping their place on that occasion. It seems as if I hoy want to play a 1 solo on review days, aud arc good natural enough to' let the company band have a little bit ot fat onj&U Jit days, for which tli« y are engaged aud paid for. Vested interests make 1 hem very kind. I think it shows very bad taste for a committee man to dictate to either a commanding-officer or those appointed to carry out the arrangements, wh« do everything for the best ; but they cannot please everybody, and "Committeeman" in particular. —lam, &c, Kb view.
