THE VOLUNTEER REVIEW.

TO THK EDITOR. Sir, —In your issue of yesterday a letter appears signed “One of the Committee.” The writer appears to think the Battalion Band is not placed in its proper place. I think he has no right to dispute it; seeing the Battalion Band is a paid one, the commanding officer has a right to place it where he thinks proper, and I for one (besides a good many more) think he has placed it in its proper place. No. 1 Battalion has had enough of dance music ; they do not like to be too selfish ; let others have a share.—l am, &c., North Ddnedix. Dunedin, November 7. P.S.—Can anyone inform me the reason the Guards’ Band did not turn out on Tuesday night? The want of it was felt very much.
