A DENIAL.

To ike Editor. Sib,—ln the case of Jane Allison, I positively deny the statement made by her in the Police Court on Thursday, that I turned her into the streets; on the contrary she left of her own accord, and for hoars afterwards unknown to me. For the woman’s own protection I placed her with Mrs Hunter, of Elm Row, 1 accompanying both parties to the house, believing she would be quiet and remain there. She, however, left during the evening, and ultimately found herself in the lock-up on a charge of drunkenness and of using bad language—a Sroof of which she gave in Court before the fagistrate, and which I trust will exculpate me from any charge of apparent harshness as made by her.—f am, &c , Samuel Pobteb. Britannia Hotel, April 27.
