The following appointments in the Armed madein consequence of the General J Gdvfernment taking over the management of the police :—Robert Clarke Shearman to be Inspecting Superintendent; date of commission 30th April, 1877. Thomajs King Weldon to be Inspector, first-class; date of commission 2nd November, 1867. Fred, Atchison to be Inspector, first class; date of commission 2nd November, 1867. Thomas Scully to be Inspector, firstclass ; date of commission-dth November, 1867. John Emerson to be inspector, first class.; date of commission Ist Joly, 1868. William Henry James to be Inspector, first* class ; date of commission Ist July, 1870. Jameb Hickson to be Inspector, first class; date of commission 20th August, 1872. Samuel Moore to be Inspector, first class ; date of commission, Ist July, 1873 i Andrew Thompson to be Inspector, first class ; date of commission Ist July, 1873. William Graham Fox to be Inspector, first class; date of commission Ist July, 1873. Peter Pender to be Inspector, first class; date.of commission 24th April, 1874. Frederick Majlard to be Inspector, first class; date of commission 23rd January, 1875. William AventonKiely to be Inspector, first class; date of commission 7th Majs J 1876. Alfred Buckley to be Inspector, first class; date of commission 28th June, 1875. Albert Oeorge Barsham to he Inspector, second’class; date of commission Ist-January; 1874. Harry Feast to be Inspector, second class; date of commission 28th June, 1875. Charles O’Donnell to be Sub-Inspector, first class; date of commission 2nd September, 1872. Samuel Goodall to be Snb-Inspector, first class; date of commission 18th June, 1873. Inspector J. B. Thomson takes charge of the Auckland; district; Inspector Broham goes to Canterbury ; while Inspectof' Aitoheaon retains charge of Wellington, Inspector Sculby of Nelson, Inspector James of Westland.
