Taranaki, for the Northern Ports, took ter departure this afternoon from the railway pier. The schooner-yaaht Jessie Nicoll sailed for a cruise this morning with a party of ladies and gentlemen. The barge Hope sailed for Waikouaiti yesterday. The ship Janet Cowan, for Newcastle, was towed to sea this morning by the tug Geelong. The barque Medora, from China, and the threemasted schooner Fairlie, from Hong Kong via Auakland, were signalled at the Heads this morning. The brig Pakeha sailed down from Dunedin with aS.W, wind yesterday afternoon, and brought up in Deborah Bay waiting for a slant of wind to proceed South. The three-masted schooner Euphrosyne came flown from Dunedin yesterday and hauled alongside the hulk California, where she will take in a cargo of coal for Oamaru. SHIPPING TELEGRAM. Napier, March s.—The steamer Pretty Jane, which was stranded at Big River, Poverty Bav, has been got off and safely towed into tbe bay.
