Bouverie and May Queen, at Lewis solo m on*s Pianoforte Warehouse, GEORGE STREET, next Johnson, Ironmonger. John Brinsmead and Son’s Patent Perfect Check Repeater Action, Patent Arm Escapement and Iron Tubular-suppoited Cottage Pianofortes. Patented 1871, in England, France, Austria, Prussia, Belgium, Italy, America, and the Netherlands. Awarded the following Medals : Gold Medal, Paris, 1870 ; Le deplomc la mention extraordinaire, Amsterdam, 1869; La Medaille d’honneur , Paris, 1867 ; Gold Prize Medal, Loudon, 1862 ; Silver Medal, Netherlands, 1867; and secured the highest class Medal at the late Great Exhibition, London. These Pianos have a world-wide reputation, the extraordinary power of the smallest instruments being equal to those cumbersome and Coffin-like Grands ; the touch is of so sensitive a nature, that perfection is almost realised; a repetition of the note can be obtained when the key is pressed down to one-eighth of an inch of its utmost limit, producing a purer, more sustained, and (owing to there being no tremulous recoil of the hammer) greater power and volume—in faet, of such a power as to sustain that which they happily call singing —whilst a plaintive melody is being performed.

These Pianos possess, and are famous for the following essentials, viz. : Touch beautifully light and elastic, Repetition instantaneous, prevention of the hammer rebounding and striking the string a second time, and j r et always ready to strike again Metallic tubes put where most needed, rendering it impossible for the instrument to get out of order, the iron supports being Compensating for extreme climates, aud preventing at the same time so great an amount of tuning necessary to ordinary instruments. Tone most delightfully sweet and tirni, brilliant and extremely powerful the smallest Piano having the power of an ordinary Grand—aud the greatest recommendation is, the wonderful manner in which this action causes the instruments to keep in order and wear. All these facts are continued by Messrs Benedict, Sydney Smith, and Brinley Richards. 1 hese Pianofortes have created quite a sensation throughout England and America. The liquid quality of tone in the upper octaves, and the clearness and sonority of the lower cannot be surpassed. They also possess this great desideratum distinct articulation in the most rapid execution. The above Pianos, ex E. P. Bouveric and May Queen are now landed. Also, a shipment of 10 ERARD’-* magnificent new design Pianofortes, the quality of which is too well known to require comment. Collard and Collard’s, Kirkman’s, Pleyel’g, Bord’s & Aueher’s will follow in due course. Other Musical Instruments, and the Latest Novelties in Music of every description shortly expected ; and, with the Pianos, will be sold at the lowest possible prices. Having engaged Mr Lucas, the well-known Organ and Pianoforte Tuner, I am prepared to undertake the Tuning, Regulating, and Repairing every description of Musical Instruments throughout the Province. Pianofortes carefully packed for the country. LEWIS SOLOMON, (Agent for Erard’s & Brinsmead’s Pianofortes.) George Street, Dunedin-
