The Hau-Haus in the Thames district (Auckland) have decided that no force is to be used or exercised to gain converts to their religion in future. Many are becoming lukewarm in the cause, the novelty having worn off'. Captain Wm. Blake Graham, late Adjutant of the Otago Volunteers, has been appointed Adjutant and Quarter-Master of Militia and Volunteers in the Wanganui Militia District. The inhabitants of Lawi’euce and Weatherstones have already petitioned the Superintendent to have these townships proclaimed into a Municipality.
