MINING INTELLIGENCE.
The Dwnstan Times says:—" For a considerable time past the opening of new ground has not been a prominent 1 feature in mining operations. In the Dunstan district a considerable extension of the old workiugs is observable from Sandy Point to the mbuth of the Fraser, and thence along the west side of the Molyneux as far as Alexandria numerous claims have been opened. Water is now obtainable from the main races at easy rates. Although much of this ground has been taken up, there still remain many spots of an equally payable nature, and may be safely considered as offering a promising opening to unemployed miners. The valuable claim of the ' All England Eleven" at Sandy Point, which was paying at the rate of £ls per man per week, has, since the rising of the Molyneux, been unworkable. The company have spent a considerable amount of money in procuring powerful appliances, and are hopeful of being able to resume operations about the commencement of the new year. They will then have in use their new water wheel, which will work six large Californian pumps.
