-Mining Companies AdvertisementsPROSPECTUS OF TEE Blue spur sluicing company (REGISTERED), TUAPEKA. To be incorporated under the ‘ ‘ Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865,” the advantages of which are so well known, and by which the liability of the Shareholders is restricted to the amount of their Shares, and no Shareholder can be sued for debts of the Company. Capital, £3,500, in 350 Shares of £lO each. Of which 200 Shares are retained by the pres* sent proprietors ; the balance, 150 Shares, are offered to the public. Two Pounds payable on application, the balance as may be required. Provisional Committee : Messi's Edward Herbert J. Hughes, M.P.C. J. Mouatt, M.P.C. Alexander Bathgate Robt. Greive R. Lancaster W. G. Buchan Manager : Bankers : The Bank of Otago (Limited). Brokers : Gillies and-Street, Office Corner of Princes and Dowling street. This Company is to be formed for the purpose of working a Claim, on which a considerable amount of expenditure in money and labour has already been made, the only object of the Proprietors in forming a Public Company being to procure the necessary additional capital for carrying on the profitable working of the Claim. The following extracts from the Report of Mr Drummond, Mining Surveyor for the District, will fully explain the position of the Claim, and be sufficient guarantee of the value of the property ; “ The Claim embraces an area of seven acres “ and nine poles, and is situate on the Munroe’s “ side of the Blue Spur, occupying one entire “ spur and gully. It is surrounded on all sides “ by either extended Claims or Leases, all in “ active operation. I consider that the Claim “ offers great facilities for being effectively “ worked, as a good face has been opened, the “ bar on the lower portion of the Claim has i “ been cut through, and a very good tail race “ has been cut principally through rock, and ex- ‘ * tending for a distance of about three hundred ‘ ‘ yards, along the course of which one or two ‘ ‘ good drops occur for receiving the soil. “ A good and substantial dam exists on the “ Claim, almost entirely cut out of the solid, 76 “ feet long by 45 feet wide and 12 feet deep on “ the average, with a capacity of containing “ about two hundred and forty-three thousand “ gallons of water. Another dam has also been erected on the line of race, situate in a gully “ about a mile-and-a-half from the Claim, the “ capacity of which might be considerably en- “ larged at a very trifling expense. The race “ takes its rise from one of the branches of the “ Tuapeka River, and is about nine miles long, “ and is at present capable of carrying about “ seventy inches of water. .... I consider “ that the value put upon the Plant and Claim * ‘ namely, Two Thousand Pounds —is very “ reasonable.” The report in full, together with a plan of the Claim, can be inspected at the offices of Messrs Gillies *and Street. The splendid results obtained by sluicing from the Blue Spur generally are so well known that it is not necessary to mention them. On half the Shares offered to the public being applied for, a meeting will be held, when permanent officers will be elected, the Company will be registered, and such regulations adopted as may seem best for the efficient working of the Claim. Application for Shares to be made to the Brokers, Messrs GILLIES AND STREET, from whom all information can be obtained. Early application for Shares is necessary.
