LINTON CAMP TO REPLACE TRENTHAM
The future military activities of Central Military District will be based on Linton Camp, south of Palmerston North.
When the matter was referred to him, the Minister of Defence (Mr, Jones) said that the Government's intention was to retain Linton Camp for ultimate development in substitution for Trentham Camp, which was being' converted to a light industrial and residential area.
"It is not intended," added the Minister, "to undertake any immediate development of Linton, which will remain as it is now, until the future military requirements of New Zealand are more fully determined."
