CHRISTMAS IN N.S.W.

Rec. 9 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 25. New South Wales had a quiet Christmas. In Sydney there were some noisy celebrations, but the crowds were goodhumoured. For the first time since the traffic restrictions had been imposed, traffic moved freely—there were some vacant seats in some trains moving to the country. There was little serious crime. Police say drunkenness in the city was higher than for many years past.
