EMPIRE LINK-UP
GREETINGS TO BRITAIN Rec. noon. . LONDON, Dec. 25. An Empire link-up which preceded the King's broadcast included greetings to Britain from an officer who has just returned to Wellington, New Zealand. Speaking immediately before the King was Harold Le Druillenec, the only British survivor from the Belsen concentration camp. He was speaking from St. Peter Port, Guernsey. He recalled that last Christmas Day he stood at attention for five hours. Preceding Druillenec there was a worldwide exchange of Christmas greetings, ranging from a village in Sussex, Singapore, Prague, and Oslo. Finally came a message from the liner Queen Elizabeth, carrying homewardbound Canadian troops in the middle of the Atlantic, and from a British airi liner homeward bound.
