"OUR LAWFUL DEMANDS"
LONDON, December 21
The "Daily Telegraph's" correspond, ent in Moscow emphasises that though , the Russian claims against Turkey j,were originally advanced in a 4000----iword letter in a Tiflis newspaper from >two Georgian professors, Djanashia ; and Berdzfnishvili, the fact that Moscow newspapers reproduced the letter under a four-column heading reading
"Our lawful demands to Turkey" makes the matter far more than a local or academic issue.
The territory concerned, adds the correspondent, includes the important communication centres of Ardahan, Artvin, Olty, Bayburt, and Gumasane, and the important ports of Trebizon and Giresun.
The Russian claims give Georgia a coastline which includes the eastern corner of the Black Sea and also a Soviet land and sea border further from Batum, which is at present a frontier town.
